July VADA News
The big news for July is the 43rd Annual Vermont Antiques Dealers’ Association show at Stratton Mountain Base Lodge. The show opens Friday, July 21st at noon and closes at 8 pm and continues on Saturday, July 22nd opening at 9 am and closing at 2 pm. Admission is $10. There will be 40 dealers exhibiting in room settings and representing 8 states, including Vermont. The dealers will all be bringing fresh to the market antiques ranging from primitive and country Americana and folk art to more formal American antiques and art. This is going to be a great show and one you won’t want to miss. For more information, call Greg Hamilton at 802-877-3359. In addition to the VADA show this month, Brimfield is also coming up July 11th through July 16th. Shopping Brimfield is always fun and there are always treasures to be found on the many fields. I was recently up in Maine and attended the Wells Antique Show and Sale on June 25th. It was a perfectly beautiful day and the Wells Reserve at Laudholm Farm was a lovely setting for an outdoor show featuring many wonderful antiques. It was great seeing and visiting with the many Vermont and VADA members set up at the show. There was a good early crowd and people were still coming in as we were leaving. People were buying and the dealers I spoke with were having a good show. Good start to the show season! The flyers for the Vermont Antique Dealers’ Association Directory are ready for distribution. Look for them at antique centers and shops throughout the state. They can also be found at highway rest areas. If you would like some for your shop, contact Brian Bittner at www.bittnerantiques.com or call him at 802-272-7527.
